Walking Skirt

Last night I finished the Victorian Walking Skirt I was making for Justine.  She says it's very comfortable.
 From the front
and back.  There are insets between the gores to make it more full as well as a box pleat in the back.
And from the side.  I think the next one will have a slight train to it.
And finally, a gratuitous cat photo.  But I can see that I need to dust the treadle table.

  1. Why-oh-why can't more of us get back to wearing skirts. I LOVE the way they look . . . so feminine! Lovely skirt on Justine. That's gotta have a lot of material in it with the insets between the gores, no?

    1. I really should wear more skirts. I actually wear them more often at home than at work.
It does look nice on her, doesn't it. And yes, it has about 4 yards of fabric, but I love the fullness in the back.

    1. Thanks! I can't claim to have sewed this on the treadle machine, though. I've got a lovely Elna machine. I just got the treadle in August and haven't quite mastered the rhythm yet.

    1. LOL! Yes! I hadn't thought of that. But actually, on V's side of the family they are related somehow. Some distant cousin several times removed, I think. His Mom researched it and Justine has a notebook detailing the relationship.
